Now, I am running for Congress because I firmly believe I can make a profound difference in the lives of millions of people. My decision to pursue this office stems from my unwavering patriotism and deep love for this country. The actions of the liberal left serve as a stark reminder of the suffering I endured during my 26 years in Cuba. I am determined to prevent that kind of oppression from affecting my family or any freedom-loving American who cherishes prosperity and liberty.
I am an urban immigrant who escaped Cuba, fleeing from the oppressive communist regime. After a perilous journey, I arrived in Texas on April 26, 2008. I obtained my residency and began working diligently. Almost two years later, at the end of 2009, I was promoted to the position of property manager for the rental property I was working at. I dedicated myself to this role until 2013 when I pursued my passion for protecting people and their property by obtaining a security officer license. I was then offered a job in customer and property protection.
Due to my strong work ethic and exceptional performance, I was promoted to the position of field supervisor in 2014. In 2015, recognizing that the best way for me to contribute to my community was by saving lives, I made the decision to become a firefighter. After nearly two years of working tirelessly at night while attending college during the day, I successfully graduated and was hired by the prestigious Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, one of the country's finest departments.
During my time with JFRD, I became actively involved in politics and joined the Clay County Republican Party's club. When our esteemed governor, Ron DeSantis, activated the Florida State Guard, I eagerly volunteered to join the organization. Following my completion of the boot camp, I became a proud member of the FSG. My intentions have always revolved around serving and helping my community, doing everything within my power to improve people's lives.
